  • 1 ½ cups warm milk
  • 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
  • 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 8 tbsp butter (divided)
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine warm milk and yeast along with ½ tsp sugar; let froth for about 5 minutes.
  2. In a stand mixer, combine flour, salt, and white sugar. Add the yeast mixture and knead until combined.
  3. Gradually add softened butter and knead until smooth.
  4. Form the dough into a ball, cover it, and let rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes or until doubled in size.
  5. Roll dough into a rectangle (10×20 inches) and spread with melted butter, then sprinkle brown sugar, white sugar, and cinnamon on top.
  6. Roll tightly into a log shape and cut into 8 pieces.
  7. Prepare caramel sauce by heating butter, brown sugar, vanilla, heavy cream, and salt in a saucepan until dissolved.
  8. Pour the sauce into a greased baking pan, add chopped pecans, then place rolls on top.
  9. Let rise again for another 30 minutes before baking at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes until golden.
