Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound chicken breast
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 yellow onion, sliced
  • 1/2 cup sliced pickled jalapeños (optional)
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3/8 cup Frank's RedHot sauce
  • 4 slices Provolone cheese
  • Ranch or blue cheese dressing

Instructions

  1. Firm up the chicken by placing it in the freezer for 30-45 minutes, then slice thinly.
  2. Preheat your oven to 400°F. Butter the insides of the hoagie rolls and sprinkle with garlic powder.
  3. In a large skillet, melt two tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat. Sauté onions and jalapeños until softened (about 7-8 minutes). Set aside.
  4. On a baking sheet, arrange hoagie rolls and toast in the oven for about 5 minutes.
  5. In the same skillet, add chicken pieces and cook over high heat until browned (about 5 minutes).
  6. Reduce heat to medium, add remaining butter and Frank's RedHot sauce to coat the chicken evenly. Top with cheese until melted.
  7. Assemble sandwiches by layering buffalo chicken mixture on toasted hoagie rolls along with sautéed vegetables and dressing.
