  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 8 slices thick-cut bread (brioche or Texas toast)
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 tbsp butter (for frying)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar (for coating)
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon (for coating)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the filling by mixing cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract in a small bowl until smooth. Spread on four slices of bread and top with remaining slices to form sandwiches.
  2. In a shallow dish, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, granulated sugar, and a pinch of salt until well combined.
  3. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and melt butter. Dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, coating both sides evenly.
  4. Cook each sandwich for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
  5. In another shallow dish, mix granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Immediately coat each piece of French toast in the cinnamon sugar mixture after cooking.
