  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup dry white cooking apple vinegar or seafood stock (non-alcoholic)
  • 1 cup lump crab meat
  • 1 cup medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large pot over medium heat, melt butter and olive oil. Sauté onion, garlic, celery, and carrot until soft.
  2. Stir in flour and cook for 2-3 minutes to create a roux.
  3. Gradually whisk in seafood stock and bring to a simmer.
  4. Add heavy cream and apple vinegar; mix well.
  5. Gently fold in crab meat and shrimp; cook for an additional 5-7 minutes until seafood is done.
  6. Season with smoked paprika, Old Bay seasoning, and optional cayenne pepper to taste.
