Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt. In another bowl, combine warm milk and yeast; let sit until foamy. Add egg and yeast mixture to dry ingredients. Knead until smooth; chill for 30 minutes.
  2. Prepare a cold butter block by shaping it into an 8-inch square between parchment sheets; chill.
  3. Roll dough into a square; place chilled butter in the center. Fold corners over to seal and roll into a rectangle. Chill after each fold.
  4. Cut dough into squares, fill with cream cheese mixture, shape as desired.
