  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup cold unsalted butter (cut into small cubes)
  • ¼ cup boiling water
  • 1 tablespoon coarse sugar for topping (optional)

Instructions
