  • 8 slices of sourdough bread
  • 1 pound thinly sliced roast beef
  • 8 slices sharp cheddar cheese
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat a large non-stick skillet over medium heat.
  2. Spread 1 tablespoon of butter on one side of each slice of sourdough.
  3. Place one slice of bread butter-side down in the skillet. If desired, spread Dijon mustard on the unbuttered side.
