  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 packet (1 ounce) onion soup mix
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • ½ cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 1 medium yellow onion, thinly sliced
  • Olive oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Pat chicken dry and season with garlic powder and pepper.
  3. In a large oven-safe skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat and sear chicken until golden brown (3 minutes per side). Remove and set aside.
  4. Sauté sliced onions in the same skillet until softened (3-4 minutes).
  5. Add chicken broth to deglaze the pan, then stir in sour cream and onion soup mix until combined.
  6. Return chicken to the skillet, spoon sauce over, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, and bake for 20-25 minutes or until chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
